Judge Kelli M. Evans confirmed as justice on state Supreme Court
Evans, 53, won’t be sworn in until January. She will take the seat of Justice Patricia Guerrero, who was promoted by Gov. Gavin Newsom to be chief justice once current Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye retires.





Alameda County Superior Court Judge Kelli M. Evans was confirmed Thursday by the Commission on Judicial Appointments as a state Supreme Court justice.
“I cannot express the gratitude and joy I feel in my heart. The words, Thank you,’ are utterly inadequate to describe what I am feeling right now,” Evans said. “I’m just so thrilled to be here today.”
