Proposed class action aims to end cash bail in L.A. County

"The bail system in Los Angeles County treats people differently based on how much money they have in their bank account," Brad D. Brian, one of the lawyers in the case and chair of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, said in an email.

In the latest salvo in the fight over changes to the nation's bail systems, a proposed class action expected to be filed Monday will challenge money bail in Los Angeles County, home to the nation's largest court system.
