LA County homeless settlement must awaits new leaders, judge says
U.S. District Judge David O. Carter continued the hearing on objections to the $236 million settlement of litigation over homeless encampments in Los Angeles County to wait for participation by new county and city officials.




After more than two years of negotiations, a federal judge will wait on approving a $236 million settlement between the County of Los Angeles and a human rights advocacy group to address the local housing crisis until officials elected in the recent midterms take office next year, according to one of the plaintiff’s attorneys.
