School district to pay $15.75 million for student's asthma attack death
The school district also agreed to partner with medical experts to provide teachers and staff with asthma training, to adopt the California School Board Association’s best practices for asthma management and to implement changes to its protocols regarding students with medical conditions.




A San Bernardino school district settled for over $15.75 million with the mother of a 13-year-old girl who died from an asthma attack on campus. The suit alleged that the death occurred because the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District failed to follow its own safety protocols.
