Credit score improvement company accused of worsening scores
Plaintiffs alleged in the Tuesday filing that not only did Bluestem Brands Inc. insert inaccurate and arbitrary information in their credit reports, the company also closed and reopened customers’ preexisting credit accounts without their notice or consent when it changed financing partners. The proposed class is everyone in the nation with the old type of credit accounts which were replaced with new ones.




A company that advertises services to help people build credit was accused by consumers of conduct which negatively impacted their credit scores, violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as California’s Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act, Unfair Competition Law and False Advertising Law in the process.
