Bar for NCAA concussion cases raised

This verdict against the claims by the widow of former USC linebacker Matthew Gee holds great significance for the hundreds of similar lawsuits pending across the nation that allege the NCAA is responsible for long term effects of head injuries incurred in football games.

The bar for future concussion lawsuits against the NCAA has likely been set higher by a landmark defense verdict delivered by a Los Angeles Superior Court jury after four weeks of rigorous and emotional testimony.
