Meta didn’t misrepresent ad charges, circuit affirms
A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel affirmed in an unpublished ruling that “Facebook never represented it would not charge for invalid impressions,” clicks on ads from fake accounts.




The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a district court summary judgment win for Meta, the tech company formerly known as Facebook, in a decision handed down on Monday morning. The two courts found that Meta did not misrepresent its advertising charges to plaintiff dotStrategy Co., which accused it of violating the California Unfair Competition Law by charging for clicks from fake accounts after saying it would not do so.
