Avenatti sentenced to 14 years for stealing client funds
U.S. District Judge James V. Selna dropped all other pending charges, at the request of the U.S. attorney’s office, and ordered Michael J. Avenatti’s sentence for cheating clients and the IRS to be served consecutively on top of the five years he is already serving at Terminal Island Federal Correctional Institution in Los Angeles.




Michael J. Avenatti was sentenced to 14 years in prison Monday by a federal judge in Santa Ana and was ordered to pay more than $10 million in restitution after two former clients testified how they had trusted him as he was stealing their money.
