Newsom’s battle with tribes over gaming compact nears end

Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office this week stipulated to a judgment in favor of the Bishop Paiute tribe, one of more than a dozen who sued Newsom alleging his administration violated the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act by seeking conditions that don’t directly relate to gaming. This followed similar recent stipulations in two other compact cases.
