San Diego dropped from lawsuit over unusable building

Judge Joel R. Wohlfeil found that a taxpayer had no standing to sue the city over arrangements that led to the lease of a building it can’t use.

A San Diego County judge released the city from a lawsuit that claimed it had leased a faulty building for many times its worth in an inappropriate and illegal deal in a hearing on Friday.

The city and its chief financial officer successfully moved for summary judgment on the grounds that the plaintiff, a San Diego taxpayer, does not have standing to sue.
