Taylor Swift shakes off suit over lyrics copying complaint
Composers and producers Sean Hall and Nathan Butler sued singer Taylor Swift and her music label over her 2014 song, “Shake It Off,’ saying it copied key lyrics from their 2001 song, “Playas Gon’ Play.” The singer’s attorneys said she had never heard of that song or the girl group that recorded it. The lawsuit was settled, with each side paying its own attorney fees.
