Newsom knows gun law is unconstitutional, opponents argue

Bradley A. Benbrook, an attorney with the Benbrook Law Group who represents the plaintiffs fighting a gun restriction law the governor signed, tried to use his own arguments against him in a reply brief filed Wednesday.

Gun rights groups who argue a California law modeled after Texas’ abortion statute, SB 8, is unconstitutional said Gov. Gavin Newsom — who stepped in to defend it after Attorney General Rob Bonta refused to do so — agrees with them.
