Policy to evict tenants accused of crimes ends in settlement
Hesperia and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will pay under $1 million to residents affected by the ordinances that encourage or require landlords to evict tenants accused of crimes, U.S. Attorney E. Martin Estrada said.




The City of Hesperia has agreed to repeal its “crime-free” rental housing policies in a settlement announced Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
