Fisher plaintiffs to get most of $50M from Amplify oil spill deal
“The settlement provides that Amplify shall pay $34 million to the fisher class in exchange for a full release of claims alleged on behalf of the fisher class in this litigation,” read the court filing from Aitken Aitken Cohn name partner Wylie A. Aitken, Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP partner Lexi J. Hazam and Larson LLP partner Stephen G. Larson. The property class will receive $9 million and the waterfront tourism class will receive $7 million, per the terms of the agreement.




The proposed plan of distribution for the $50 million settlement with Amplify Energy Corp. stemming from a 2021 oil spill in Huntington Beach was filed by attorneys for the plaintiffs, with the fisher class to receive the largest amount of $34 million.
