Lawyers help scammed elderly woman avoid foreclosure, win $4M

“To go from an ocean-view, four-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Malibu to living in a trailer in Ventura,” said Douglas D. Shaffer, of counsel with Dordick Law. “It took a special level of deceit and cruelty to do this to this woman. She is one of the sweetest, nicest people you’ll ever meet. She put her trust in somebody who abused that trust.”

A judge awarded $4 million to an elderly woman who was defrauded by a bank executive, causing her to lose her childhood home in Malibu which she owned free and clear.

Her attorneys from Dordick Law Corp. helped her pay the bank, sell the home, get an annuity and move; otherwise the bank would have foreclosed, leaving her with nothing.
