Sacramento judge named for 3rd District, 15 superior court judges appointed
Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Judge Shama H. Mesiwala to the Sacramento superior court in 2017. She was the first South Asian appointed to the court. According to the court’s website, she serves on a trial and mental health court assignment.




Gov. Gavin Newsom gave an early Christmas present to the 3rd District Court of Appeal on Friday — the nomination of a new justice, Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Shama H. Mesiwala.
The governor also named 15 new superior court judges.
