Appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, Guerrero enters the job as the first Latina chief justice and with an impressive background as a Latham & Watkins LLP litigator, supervising judge in San Diego County’s family court, appellate justice, and a brief stint as associate Supreme Court justice.
