Altria, continuing its defense, wants Juul to reveal settlement details

Altria, the maker of Marlboro cigarettes, has a 35% stake in Juul. Altria was not a party to Juul’s settlement, and remains a defendant in mass tort litigation. Plaintiffs allege that Altria conspired with Juul and violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act by marketing electronic cigarettes to minors.

Juul Labs Inc.’s largest investor, Altria Group Inc., is trying to force Juul to reveal details of its settlement with 10,000 plaintiffs for marketing electronic cigarettes to minors.
