Meta Platforms can sue an Israeli cyberintelligence firm accused of installing spyware on devices to access WhatsApp servers illegally, the U.S. Supreme Court said on Monday.
In refusing to hear an appeal, the justices rejected NSO Group Technologies’ claims of immunity on the grounds that it was acting “as an agent of foreign governments” with the purpose of combating terrorism. The case will proceed in federal court in San Francisco.
