Criminal charges appear to loom against Girardi lawyer

“There is a pending federal criminal investigation related to issues pending before this court in this matter,” wrote Leigh P. Robie of Robie & Matthai in a motion for stay. “The details of the investigation that are the basis for the motion for stay should not be made public until the U.S. Attorney’s Office investigating the matter determines that those details should be made public or charges are filed.”

Criminal charges appear to be looming over at least one of the key lawyers at now-defunct Girardi Keese, according to a court filing by his lawyers and comments by another attorney whose law firm is suing him.
