Courts lose just a bit in Newsom’s 2023-24 budget

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s $297 billion state budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year includes about $5.1 billion for the judicial branch, down slightly from the current fiscal year. Attorney General Rob Bonta will receive a $1.2 billion budget, about the same as the 2022-23 fiscal year.
