In a report issued by the office of Legislative Analyst Gabriel Petek, portions of a State Bar's proposal were deemed reasonable, but other sections raised questions for legislative consideration.

The State Bar’s proposal to add “public risk” to the priority criteria for disciplinary cases, in addition to complexity, is reasonable, the Legislative Analyst’s Office stated in a report. But the office raised questions about whether the suggested “aggressive timelines” for completing investigations are achievable in the interest of protecting the public from bad attorneys.
