Erika Girardi attorney seeks to disqualify trustee’s counsel

Trustees for the bankruptcy estates of Tom Girardi and his defunct firm have hired special counsels to pursue assets they believe were improperly transferred to Erika Girardi, known professionally as Erika Jayne.

An attorney representing Erika Girardi filed a motion Wednesday seeking to disqualify a law firm representing the trustee handling her husband’s bankruptcy estate due to an alleged conflict of interest.

But the trustee handling the bankruptcy estate of disbarred attorney Thomas V. Girardi countered later in the day with a short retort accusing Greenberg Gross LLP attorney Evan C. Borges of getting the law wrong.
