'Correlation is not causation', Musk testifies

The head of Tesla and Twitter told jurors he uses Twitter to communicate with retail investors quite frequently and thinks it is the “most democratic” way to communicate with people and “it gives all investors, no matter whether they are big or small investors, equal access to information.”

Tesla Inc.’s chief executive officer Elon Musk briefly took the stand Friday to testify about tweets he made on Aug. 7, 2018 about potentially taking Tesla private at $420 a share and there was “funding secured.” He was questioned for 30 minutes and will retake the stand Monday.

U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen ruled last year that Musk’s initial funding post was false and reckless.
