Microsoft can’t pause gamer suit over Activision purchase
Counsel for Microsoft called into question the validity of the plaintiffs’ desire to enjoin the purchase in the initial motion to stay; arguing that it is redundant given a pending FTC matter with the same aims.




An antitrust lawsuit by gamers trying to halt Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard will not be put on hold while an identical claim by the FTC proceeds, a federal judge in San Francisco has ruled.
On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Jacqueline S. Corley declined the stay request and set a March 23 hearing in San Francisco for the plaintiffs' motion for a preliminary injunction.
