Nursing home slams judge, jury for $30M verdict, plans appeal
A statement from Pine Creek Care Center stated: “The limitations put on the defendants’ ability to fully defend themselves, coupled with the court granting the plaintiffs’ request to instruct the jury that the defendants engaged in a plan to maximize profits at the expense of patient care, which is both false and grossly prejudicial, are denials of the defendant’s rights to due process and a fair trial that will be addressed on appeal.”




A week after a Superior Court jury returned a $30 million verdict against a Roseville nursing home accused of elder abuse, the defense attorneys questioned the validity of the verdict, the judge’s exclusion of evidence and how the jury arrived at its decision.
