Judge to decide if fireworks violate Clean Water Act

Amy C. Johnsgard of Coast Law Group LLP said in her opening statement that Long Beach’s annual 4th of July fireworks have stipulated they never obtained a national pollution discharge elimination system permit, which is required under the Clean Water Act.

One of Long Beach’s annual 4th of July fireworks shows is being challenged in federal court as potentially flouting the Clean Water Act. The lawsuit brought by an environmental rights group went to a bench trial Tuesday in Los Angeles.
