Delaware court chief urges Congress to stay in its lane

Noting it had been 20 years since President George W. Bush signed the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, passed in the wake of a series of corporate and accounting scandals, Justice Collins J. Seitz Jr said the Delaware Court of Chancery has integrated the federal statute into the state’s corporation law.

CORONADO — Delaware Supreme Court Chief Justice Collins J. Seitz Jr. told a securities law conference Tuesday that state courts such as his are best equipped to adjudicate alleged corporate wrongdoing.
