CORONADO — Following a year in which the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission collected a record $6.4 billion in penalties, its director of enforcement on Wednesday emphasized the importance of financial remedies, during a panel discussion at a securities law conference.
“Remedies are one of our most important tools,” Gurbir Grewal said, and urged attorneys to cooperate with SEC inquiries.
