Civil lawsuits follow FTC actions in agriculture sector

Attorneys say a more active federal response on the issue has emboldened private companies to sue more aggressively. One of these cases landed in the Eastern District of California this week, as plaintiffs accused two of the state’s biggest beef producers, Harris Ranch Beef Company and Central Valley Meat Co. Inc. of withholding reams of information.
