Trial begins in case of artist who says Walmart stole designs

Walmart have proffered an affirmative defense that its client is exempt from the claims against it because it is an online marketplace that works with third-party sellers.

Walmart Inc. is facing a copyright infringement trial in federal court after a Pasadena sculptural artist accused the company of ripping off her lamp designs and selling their likenesses on its website at a discount.
