Girardi’s son-in-law pleads not guilty to federal charges

David R. Lira previously testified that he resigned from the firm in June 2020 and told Thomas Girardi he “has committed professional suicide” by his handling of the cases.

Former Girardi Keese attorney David R. Lira pleaded not guilty Friday to criminal charges related to misappropriating $3 million in settlement funds intended for victims of a plane crash in Indonesia that brought down Thomas V. Girardi’s legal empire.
