Senate fills remaining vacancy of beleaguered Eastern District court

Meanwhile, the Senate Judiciary Committee easily approved the nomination of Ramsey & Ehrlich LLP white collar defense attorney Ismail J. “Izzy” Ramsey to be the next U.S. attorney in San Francisco.

For the first time since 2019, the Eastern District of California will have all six of its allocated active Article III judges. Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Daniel J. Calabretta was confirmed by the Senate by a 51-45 margin on Thursday.
