Justices refuse to hear appeal to LA County's flavored tobacco ban

“This case has generated a lot of interest because there is an increasing movement around the country of local communities and states trying to ban the sale of these kinds of products for public health reasons,” said Kent Raygor, who defended the ordinance.

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal filed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. to Los Angeles County’s ban on the sale of flavored tobacco, which went into effect in December.
