US judge accused of ordering girl handcuffed in court
The allegations concern what Senior U.S. District Judge Roger T. Benitez did during a Feb. 13 hearing for a man convicted of distributing methamphetamine who admitted to violating terms of his supervised release. The man’s 13-year-old daughter was brought from the gallery, handcuffed and cautioned against drug use, according to the defense attorney’s sentencing memorandum.
