Lyft seeks end to bellwether suits over driver assaults

Its summary adjudication motion says the plaintiffs did not sue the drivers for the alleged criminal actions and have not proven the company is responsible for the behavior.

Lyft Inc. is trying to dispose of more than half the claims brought by the first of four bellwether plaintiffs in a coordinated proceeding against the ride-share company, which was sued by 123 riders alleging that Lyft was liable for sexual crimes by its drivers.

Its summary adjudication motion says the plaintiffs did not sue the drivers for the alleged criminal actions and have not proven the company is responsible for the behavior.
