Amplify wins $96.5M from shippers for pipeline damage

The amount exceeds what the company paid to settle claims by thousands of individual plaintiffs and to close state and federal criminal cases in the aftermath of the spill.

Amplify Energy Corp., which operated the pipeline at the center of a Huntington Beach oil spill in 2021, has negotiated a $96.5 million settlement with shipping companies whose vessels disturbed and allegedly broke the pipeline months prior, the company announced Friday.
