DLA can't represent Chinese dissident in dispute with Stanford

U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar ruled the law firm should be disqualified because the firm was representing Stanford and a licensee in patent prosecution work at the same time that it represented a now-deceased Chinese politician's widow in a lawsuit against the university.

A federal judge in Oakland has disqualified DLA Piper LLP (US) from representing the family of a dissident Chinese Communist Party member in a dispute with Stanford University because the firm also represented Stanford in patent prosecution matters.
