A former deputy public defender who alleged discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination for her off-the-clock advocacy work with Black Lives Matter settled her lawsuit against San Diego County for $900,000, according to her attorney.
The resolution comes on the heels of a similar case against the Office of the Public Defender in which a jury in January awarded the plaintiff, a gay male, more than $2.6 million in damages.
