LG knowingly sold faulty appliances, complaints allege

Earlier this year, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that it was conducting a study into gas emissions from stoves in response to public concern about potential health risks.

LG Electronics Inc. was hit last week with two class actions alleging substandard manufacturing of its appliances in federal court.

Dovel & Luner LLP in Santa Monica filed a complaint on behalf of a Vallejo woman claiming the company’s gas stoves emit hazardous levels of nitrogen dioxide.
