Judge wants law enforcement to testify on bail challenge

Judge Lawrence P. Riff said he wanted to know what would happen if he were to prohibit the city and county of Los Angeles and their law enforcement agencies from temporarily enforcing the cash bail schedule.

LOS ANGELES — A superior court judge presiding over a challenge to Los Angeles County’s cash bail schedule said on Tuesday that he wants live testimony from law enforcement experts before he rules on a request for a preliminary injunction.
