9th Circuit issue emergency stay as 2nd judge enjoins state handgun law
The rulings over the past few days are the first examples of how judges in California will treat the 1999 Unsafe Handgun Act in the wake of a U.S. Supreme Court decision last year that established a new standard for evaluating firearms regulations.




A second federal judge has enjoined provisions of a California handgun law, even as a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel granted an emergency motion by Attorney General Rob Bonta to keep two provisions of the statute in place for now.
