School agrees to pay $13M to family of student killed by security officer
“We hope with a settlement of this size that school districts everywhere that have school security guards who are armed, that they take another look at their policies,” Michael Carrillo of the Carrillo Law Firm said.




The Long Beach Unified School District agreed to pay $13 million to the family of an 18-year-old girl who was fatally shot by a school security officer two years ago.
The security officer, Eddie Francisco Gonzalez, has been charged with murder.
