Judge moves to halt talc cases as J&J bankruptcy proceeds

The question is whether the latest maneuver by Johnson & Johnson and a group of plaintiffs’ attorneys will work, or if it will suffer the fate of the bankruptcy that was rejected by the 3rd Circuit.

A bankruptcy judge in New Jersey on Wednesday granted a stay halting a trial scheduled to begin April 17 in Alameda County Superior Court by a 24-year-old man against Johnson & Johnson who says he got mesothelioma from Johnson’s baby powder.
