Sweetgreen changes name of burrito to end Chipotle’s claim

The settlement was announced two days after Chipotle filed a trademark infringement lawsuit.

A salad chain sued last week in federal court by Chipotle for alleged trademark infringement quickly resolved the lawsuit as it agreed to change the name of a burrito bowl on its menu.

A statement Thursday from Sweetgreen said, “In order to focus on the business and continue serving our guests without distraction, we have decided to rename our bowl to the ‘Chicken + Chipotle Pepper Bowl’ as part of a tentative agreement to resolve the law...
