AG seeks penalties, injunction against Huntington Beach over housing

City attorney, Michael Gates said the state was wasting taxpayer money with its lawsuits, and that the city would fight back.

Attorney General Rob Bonta wants to amend the state’s housing lawsuit against Huntington Beach to declare the city in violation of the state Housing Element Law, and request penalties and injunctive relief.
