Gamers try again to block Microsoft-Activision deal
U.S. District Judge Jacqueline S. Corley dismissed the gamers’ initial complaint without prejudice on March 20 because she found their claims did not adequately allege the merger would create an appreciable danger of anticompetitive effects in the market nor have standing for a Section 8 claim based on anticompetitive effects in the labor market.




Lawyers for gamers seeking to enjoin Microsoft’s proposed $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard Inc. attempted to revive their complaint with numbers they say will prove the gaming market would be adversely impacted by the deal.
Lawyer Joseph M. Alioto also vowed to put the CEOs of Microsoft Inc. and Activision under oath if allowed to proceed with the case.
