Biden to nominate new Fresno federal judge to 9th Circuit
U.S. District Judge Ana I. de Alba was confirmed 53-45 by the Senate last June. Her appointment was cheered by attorneys and fellow judges in the Eastern District of California, which had been critically understaffed for years.
President Joe Biden intends to nominate U.S. District Judge Ana I. de Alba to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, 15 months after he appointed her to the federal court in Fresno, the White House announced Friday.
Biden will also nominate U.S. Magistrate Judge Irma C. Ramirez in Texas to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the White House announced.
