9th Circuit considers whether Monsanto must put warning on weedkiller

Senior U.S. District Judge William B. Shubb in June 2020 permanently enjoined the state from requiring Monsanto put a cancer warning label on Roundup weedkiller because doing so would be compelled speech.

Attorneys for Monsanto Co. and the state of California argued Wednesday before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals over whether the first and only instance of a federal court enjoining a Proposition 65 warning requirement for First Amendment reasons was appropriate.
