Report: Board diversity increased despite legal setbacks

The report released by New York-based Out Leadership, which works to increase LGBT+ presence on corporate boards, said the number of Fortune 500 companies that have a gender diversity policy for their boards grew from 113 in 2021 to 422 this year.

Corporate boards have quickly become more diverse despite judges’ striking down laws mandating diversity, according to a report released Wednesday.

The report, “LGBTQ+ Board Diversity: Progress & Possibility,” issued by New York-based Out Leadership, which works to increase LGBT+ presence on corporate boards, released the report.
